    Dr. Michael Sarel

    Dr. Sarel is a senior fellow at Kohelet. Until March 2014, he served as the Chief Economist and director of state revenue, research and international affairs. He obtained his doctoral degree from Harvard where he was also a teaching fellow. Dr. Sarel worked in the World Bank, The International Monetary Fund, The Bank of Israel, in the Ministry of Finance as head of the research department and in Harel Insurance and Finance Group as the head of the economics and research department.

    Shiran Vaknin Froymovich


    Shiran holds a B.A. summa cum laude in economics and management from the Open University of Israel and also holds an M.A. in economics from Ben-Gurion University. During her studies she researched the sovereign debt market. Her thesis was an empirical examination of the sovereign debt credit ratings over two decades.
    Shiran joined the Fellows Program at the Milken Innovation Center. The program promotes long-term strategic decision-making by placing outstanding University graduates in government ministries. Shiran was placed at the Israel Tax Authority, researching tax incentive models for social investments and affordable housing.

    Shiran is a teaching assistant of several economic courses at The College of Management. She also worked as a lecturer and teaching assistant at Ben-Gurion University and Ashkelon Academic College.
    Shiran was an active member of Ben-Gurion University Student Association and served a year as the Chairman of the Finance Committee. She was also a Leadership Coordinator at ISEF Foundation. Today she volunteers at the Nachshonim Venture, helping nonprofit organizations develop income generating initiatives.

    Katz has a Ph.D. in economics, a master's degree in economics and a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and management, all from Tel Aviv University. Specializes in economic growth and social mobility. He lectures on economics in several academic institutions and lectures to the general public. He has extensive experience in policy research in various research institutes and consulting firms, and writes a popular blog about economics on the Haaretz website.

    He holds a BA in Economics and Statistics from the Hebrew University and is currently an MA student at Hebrew and Tel Aviv University. Ariel is a member of the Israeli Society for Economic History, which promotes research and teaching in the field.

    Dor obtained a BA in the Philosophy-Economics-Political Science program at Hebrew University and is studying now for his Masters degree in economics and public policy in the research track.
    A research assistant at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an IT expert who manages computerized data scraping projects at Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University.
